Plein d'événéments ces 10 derniers jours!

> Il y a une dizaine de jours, notre coloc John s'est fait mordre par une veuve noire dans le jardin. C'est une petite araignée noire qui paraît toute innocente mais qui au passage est juste mortelle! Du coup, Nico l'a accompagné à l'hôpital et ici les urgences sont habituées à traiter rapidement avec de l'anti-venin donc plus de peur que de mal (c'est tout de même super dangereux si cela t'arrive loin d'un hôpital...).

Sinon, la semaine dernière fut folle!

> Lundi, nous avons pris le car direction Warragul (1h30 à l'est de Melbourne) pour aller rencontrer des fermiers qui seraient intéressés pour nous employer à partir de septembre.
La ferme s'appelle Three Ridges et élève des boeufs en biodynamie (pour en savoir plus sur l'agriculture biodynamique on dit coucou wikipédia), c'est en gros du bio ++
La rencontre et la découverte de la ferme fut une sorte de rêve tellement tout était fou!

Full of events in the last 10 days!

> Ten days ago, our housemate John was bitten by a red back in the garden. It is a small black spider that seems all innocent but that is just mortal! So, Nico escorted him to the hospital and here, the emergencies are used to treat quickly with anti-venom so more shaken than injured (it is nevertheless super dangerous if this happens to you far from the hospital ...).

Otherwise, last week was crazy!

> Monday, we took the bus to Warragul (1h30 east of Melbourne) to meet farmers who would be interested to hire us from September.
The farm is called Three Ridges and raises oxen in a biodynamic way (to know more about biodynamic agriculture, hello wikipedia), it is basically organic ++
The meeting and discovery of the farm was kind of a dream so everything was crazy!

Look at this landscape and these beautiful animals:

J'avais trouvé leur contact via internet et ils nous avaient invités chez eux pour que l'on discute.
Susan et Franco ont travaillé longtemps à Melbourne (Susan était designer textile! si ça c'est pas un signe) et il y a 10 ans ils ont décidé de déménager à la campagne.
Ils sont plus gestionnaires d'une ferme que "fermiers" au sens typique du terme car ils ont un farm-boy qui s'occupent des vaches (charolaises et black-angus) et de leurs 400 hectares de terrain! Il faut un quad ou une moto-cross pour se déplacer.

Ce couple est disons assez aisé donc leur ferme ressemble à une villa avec des sculptures dans le jardin, du marbre dans la cuisine et même une cabine sauna et une dépendance pour leurs enfants! Ils sont très gentils, très humains et ouverts; le contact est très bien passé donc nous allons très certainement partir là bas vers la fin août!! :D

Je n'avais pas pris mon appareil photo car je m'attendais à une petite ferme avec des fermiers réfractaires aux photos, donc voici quelques clichés de notre journée pris avec mon portable :

I had found their contact via the internet and they had invited us to chat.
Susan and Franco worked for a long time in Melbourne (Susan was a textile designer! if that's not a sign) and 10 years ago they decided to move to the countryside.
They are more managers of a farm than "farmers" in the typical meaning of the term because they have a farm-boy who takes care of the cows (charolais and black-angus) and their 400 hectares of land! You need a quad bike or motocross to get around.

This couple is pretty wealthy so their farm looks like a villa with sculptures in the garden, marble in the kitchen and even a sauna cabin and an outhouse for their children! They are very kind, very human and open; we had a very good feeling so we will definitely go there around the end of August !! : D

I had not taken my camera because I expected a small farm with farmers wary with photos, so here are some snapshots of our day taken with my phone:
(Well actually we see mostly us in a cafe in Melbourne waiting for the coach)

> Vendredi dernier, Nico a fait un essai dans mon restaurant et va donc probablement bosser avec moi en tant que second!! :D On attend son planning mais le courant avec le chef était très bien passé :)

> Et samedi soir, Warren (le 2ème hôte quand on était arrivés à Melbourne) et son papa nous avaient invités à aller voir un match de football australien! (ou Footie comme ils disent). C'était un match important (Footscray/Melbourne contre Adélaïde) et on a vraiment adoré!

> Last Friday, Nico had a trial in my restaurant and will probably work with me as a chef !! :D We are waiting for his schedule but he had a great feeling with the head chef :)

> And on Saturday night, Warren (the 2nd guest who hosted us in Melbourne) and his dad had invited us to see an Australian football game! (or Footie as they say). It was an important game (Footscray/Melbourne vs Adelaide) and we really loved it!

Le "footie" comme on dit ici est un mélange de football français (on peut taper au pied), de rugby (même ballon, on peut courir avec le ballon dans les mains, il faut viser entre des poteaux) et de basket (on peut dribbler). Le terrain est ovale, les arbitres sifflent non-stop pour pousser les joueurs à jouer vite et il y a vraiment pleinnnn de règles.
Heureusement que l'on était bien entourés pour avoir les explications, du coup on a vraiment adoré!
Et surtout l'ambiance autour et au sein du stade est vraiment sympa par rapport au foot français: très peu de policiers, une ambiance familiale, des supporters d'équipes différentes au sein des mêmes familles ou groupes d'amis, et dans le stade les supporters peuvent se mélanger sans problème!

Bref une belle soirée dans le CBD (vue sur les Docks de nuit <3)

The "footie" as we say here is a mix of French football (you can kick with your foot), rugby (same ball, you can run with the ball in your hands, you have to shoot between poles) and basketball (you can dribble). The ground is oval, the referees whistle non-stop to push the players to play fast and there are really plenty of rules.
Luckily we were well surrounded to get the explanations, so we really loved it!
And especially the atmosphere around and within the stadium is really friendly compare to France: very few policemen, a family atmosphere, supporters of different teams within the same families or groups of friends, and in the stadium the fans are all mixed together!

In short, a nice evening in the CBD (view over the Docks by night <3)
