Notre super camping gratuit à Howkesdale (bon juste l'eau des douches étaient froides, brrr!)

Our great free camping in Hawkesdale (well, it is just cold water for showers, brrr!)

C'est parti pour les Grampians, ouiii! (sur la carte vous pouvez voir où on était par rapport à Melbourne) C'est une chaîne de montagnes à l'ouest du Victoria qui culmine à 1167m d'altitude.

Let's go for the Grampians, yeeees! (on the map we can see where we were compare to melbourne). It is a mountain range in western Victoria, which rises to 1167m above sea level.

A Halls Gap (ville principale), il y a des wallabies partout!
On a aussi vu un émeu sauvage au bord d'un parking dans la montagne!
Nous avons été aux cascades McKenzie Falls et au point de vue Reed lookout, magnifique!

We also saw a wild emu near a carpark in the mountain!
Then we went to the McKenzie Falls and the Reed lookout view of the Grampians, so beautiful <3

Puis camping gratuit à Plantation Campground, entourés de plein de gens! Du coup, on en a profité pour tester mon système fait-maison pour "fermer" la "cuisine" ^^

Free camping at Plantation Campground, surrounded by lots of people! So, we try my hand-made system to "close" the "kitchen".

Le deuxième jour, nous avons fait la fameuse rando des Grampians, les Pinacles, qui prend deux heurs retour compris. Nous avons pris le chemin via le grand canyon et c'était à couper le souffle!

On the second day, we did the famous hiking of the Grampians, the Pinacles, which takes around 2 hours return included. We took the way via the Grand Canyon and it was stunning!

Ensuite, sous la pluie, nous sommes allés au centre culturel Brambuk, un endroit qui explique l'Histoire des Aborigènes, à la fois locaux et nationaux.
Même si l'endroit était superbe et le musée intéressant, c'était gênant de lire toutes ces injustices et ce racisme, les textes étaient là pour rétablir la vérité donc c'était plein d'accusations envers les Eropéens et les Australiens "blancs", bref toute cette haine ce n'était pas super...
Mais j'ai appris un truc cool: les aborigènes locaux disent qu'il y a 6 saisons à Gariwerd (nom aborigène pour Grampians) et elles sont liées à la faune et la flore:
- début du printemps, saison des oiseaux qui font leur nid
- printemps, saison des fleurs des champs
- début de l'été, saison des papillons
- fin de l'été, saison des anguilles
- automne, saison des abeilles
- hiver, saison des cacatoës (on confirme!)

Then, under the rain, we've been to the Brambuk cultural centre, a place that explains the Aboriginal history, both local and national. Even it was a beautiful place and it was interesting, it was very embarassing to read all the injustices and racist acts, the texts were here to set the truth so it was full of accusations against European and "white" Australian, all this hate was not very comfortable...
But I've learnt something cool, the local aboriginals say there are 6 seasons in the Gariwerd (aboriginal name for Grampians) and they are in connection with the fauna and flora:
- early spring, season of nesting birds
- spring, season of wildflowers
- early summer, season of butterflies
- late summer, season of eels
- autumn, season of honey bees
- winter, season of cockatoos (we confirm!)

Et le soir, nous avons roulé vers le nord en direction d'Adélaïde jusqu'à nous poser dans un camping gratuit dans Little Desert National Park, qui n'a en fait rien d'un désert car on y trouve plein de végétation! Nico a pu faire un feu et ce soir on a cuit une soupe et des pâtes au feu de bois, la classe!

And on the evening, we went to the north driving toward Adelaide and we settled in a free camping in Little desert national park, which is not a desert because you have lots of vegetation! Nico did a fire and that night we cooked a soup and pastas with wood fire, classy! :D
